Equity zone is an initiative to ensure that all communities within a market have equal access to Bird scooters. Bird partners with fleet managers to distribute scooters through a data rich app to communicate real time needs in their areas.

The right tools at the right time

The challenge was how to best provide Fleet Managing partners real time fleet-specific requirements for vehicle re-distribution.

A ) We leveraged our existing messaging systems to surface reminders and alerts directly on the Operator Map.

B ) We created a command center for on demand management of fleet distribution where an FM can monitor compliance of entire fleet.

C ) Facilitate distribution by reserving approved spaces ahead of time.

The Operator Map is a central space at the core of managing fleets. Therefore any use of overlays must be judicious and intentional.

By making alerts dynamic and timed we are preventing unnecessary roadblocks to operator efficiency. Additionally introducing a control center for compliance alerts allow us to reuse this flexible space for all future city initiatives.
